The Thanksgiving holiday can be a beautiful time with family and friends to celebrate and reflect on what you are thankful for. The more you prepare ahead of time for Thanksgiving, or any holiday for that matter, the less stressful it can be. Let’s discuss getting the details out of the way so you can relax and enjoy your time together with 4 simple holiday organization tips.
Tip #1: Freshen Up the Fridge
Most of our clients do not clean out their fridge and freezer very often. Old condiments, unsightly containers, and overall crowding can be an issue. We recommend cleaning out your fridge once a quarter or so, and also before the holiday season begins. This will give you a fresh start, space for new ingredients, and of course room for all the turkey and leftovers.

Tip #2: Set Out Linens & Dishes
Take essential linens that you would like to use for the holiday and specialty cookware items out of storage well in advance. This not only gives you time to clean and launder the items, but it also allows you to make sure everything that you need for the holiday meal will work. This way, there are no last-minute surprises. We even suggest prepping the actual dishes the day before as well, to limit what you need to do on the day of.

Tip #3: Prepare the Table Early
Prepping your table the night before can really reduce stress and overwhelm. Not to mention, it is also more fun when the pressure is off and there is no deadline. Depending on the size of your guest list, it can help to be extra organized with knowledge of a headcount, enough seats for all your guests, and even place cards for where they should sit.

Tip #4: Set Up a Self-Serve Snack & Drink Station
Setting up a self-serve drinks and appetizer space away from the kitchen might be beneficial. This will keep your guests occupied while last-minute details are being completed. It will also keep little feet out of the kitchen while the chef is working hard.
