As you enter your retirement era, you may be feeling some strong emotions…excitement, anxiety, overwhelm, anticipation, etc. This is a big change coming, and are you prepared?
Today on the blog, we will be sharing tips for success for your new season of life. Here are 3 organization tips for the retirement years and beyond.
Tip #1: Organize Your Exit
We encourage you to thoughtfully organize your exit from your workplace far in advance. Plan ahead! With extra time in your workday, start to go through items in your office and decide what you need to keep long-term and what you no longer need.
Gradually begin taking items home that you want to keep but no longer need at the office. Next, Hand off digital files, as well as tasks that you may need to teach or processes that you need to document to your successor.

Tip #2: Design Your Daily Routines
Organize your days before that first day of freedom and decide what goals you will have in retirement; what you want to accomplish? Having structure and a plan in your day can prevent overwhelm, anxiety, and a lost sense of purpose. Even make a to-do list and work in important things in your day like social time, fitness, and relaxing, or traveling to see family.

Tip #3: Refresh and Reorganize Your Home
Gradually work on organizing key areas in your home for your maximum level of function and enjoyment. What spaces are important to you and why? Does your closet need a purge where you have less work clothes and more leisure-type outfits? Have you always wanted to be able to focus on your crafts?
Turn a bedroom into a new workspace where you feel inspired. Do you need to change the kitchen to eat at home more or host parties more? Think of what will work best for you and make those changes as you are able.
