An organized home can be life-changing. There are many benefits, like a clean and tidy-looking space, knowing where things are and not wasting time looking for them, and not buying duplicate items that you know you have but cannot find. Actually, the benefits of organizing go deeper than this. Organization can impact your well-being; it can increase calm and peace, help you rest easier, and impact relationships and finances.
It is safe to say that organization is about way more than just a pretty space; however, organization does not come without an investment of time (& patience). Today on the blog, we will break down the organization process as well as the time investment.
Step #1: The Consultation & Custom Planning Phase
Here at Pretty Neat, we offer a complimentary consultation process to get to know you and learn how we can help. Organization is about more than just decluttering, and we like to know we are a good fit from the start. As we move through our proven organization process, there are important steps to follow to get great results. The consultation and planning can take a few days to a few weeks, depending on your timeline and specific needs.

Step #2: Organizing & Decluttering Phase
Once we learn about your goals and spaces that need help, we create a plan and schedule your sessions to get you organized. While in the home, we always sort, declutter, create systems for your needs, apply products (bins and baskets) to help with storage, and put the finishing touches on with labeling. Our goal is to have your space look good and function well. Most spaces take 1-2 sessions for full organization.

Step #3: Final Touches & Ongoing Maintenance Phase
Once we complete the organization, we don’t leave you hanging. We follow up and make sure the space is working for you and ask how we can help moving forward. We love to help our busy clients with maintenance, where we come back periodically and reset the space for you. This can occur monthly, qaurterly, or yearly. We work with whatever timeline makes sense for you to have your space reset.

Closet Organization: A Real-Life Example
Let’s take closets as an example. With the changing of seasons, closet organization is always a top priority for our clients. Our steps include:
- Clearing out clutter from floors or hidden under shelves
- Sorting “like” things together (e.g., short sleeves with short sleeves, pants with pants)
- Delcuttering and making decisions on what can stay and what can go
- Putting everything back in an organized way that makes sense for your space
- Adding labels for easy maintenance

Organization can be overwhelming and even challenging at times. Sticking to a proven process helps! If you’re ready for an expert to bring systems into your entire space, we’ve got your back! Contact us and let’s get to know each other.
See you soon,
Audra
